I met a really cool company named Personality > The Cause Marketing Agency < over on MySpace,.. (they’re physically located in LosAngeles.) I knew they were up to some really good stuff once I read this >

“We get up in the morning because we believe, despite all the naysayers, that we can change the world. We’re not big-headed enough to think we can do it ourselves, but collectively we can change the world.”

Nicely said! They have a great question up on their MySpace page asking you,.. What’s Your Cause?

Again from their site >

A cause is what gets you up in the morning.

It’s a purpose. An ideal. A goal. A principle.

It can be a specific non-profit organization or a lofty dream that isn’t bound by any corporate structure.

A cause is the belief that the man with the cardboard sign on the corner deserves a second chance; that if Coca-Cola can reach an African village, so can drugs that arrest the spread of AIDS; that the only thing more overwhelming than a hurricane wiping out an entire region is relief supplies and support flooding that ravaged region with hope.

A cause is something that makes you take a stand against a culture sinking into the paralysis of indifference. A cause is something your heart grabs onto and won’t let go.

Sooo > What’s Your Cause? Either drop us a line and let us know (that’s something we encourage here @ idUnited as well,.. so we can work with your favorite NPO in the future) Or swing over to the Personality Myspace page and tell them your cause! Also check out the Personality Blog.

Be Good.

Peace Oil

What can a little bottle of oil do?,.. (besides help you whip up a great dish in the kitchen)  How about bringing together a staff of Arabs, Jews, Bedouins and Druze in harmony! huh?.. Yeah that’s right,.. Peace oil is produced in Northern Israel and is sponsored by the Charities Advisory Trust which encourages co-operation between communities. Its vision is that through economic co-operation and daily contacts, barriers will be broken down, and understanding and respect built.

“It’s extra virgin, great on salads and a lubricant for relationships in the Middle East.”

It is not produced in bulk and the olives are taken straight from the tree to the mill and pressed within hours of picking. This gives it a very pure and characteristic taste–perfect for salads and garnish. Profits from sales are used to support peace and reconciliation work in the Middle East. Finally,.. Peace and Oil can be used in the same sentence.

Coming fresh off an unprecedented, one day, multi-city(7) tour,.. Jay-Z decided he wasn’t done and wanted to keep working. This Friday [Nov 24th]  Hova will be putting on the “H 2 the izzO” charity concert to help fight the worlds water crisis (over a billion people don’t have access to clean water). The “H 2 the izzO” concert is going to be held @ New York’s Roseland Ballroom. Don’t live in NY?.. No worries,.. AOL Music is going to be broadcasting the concert Live (10pm EST) and for Free. If you miss it live, you can watch the concert on demand after it’s done.

Ahh and don’t forget the best part >

“Proceeds from the show will benefit PlayPumps International, a nonprofit collaborative that enables individuals, governments, foundations and companies to donate PlayPump water systems to rural communities and schools. The water systems draw clean water as children utilize playground equipment such as a merry-go-round, which generates water flow into a storage tank and is easily accessed with the turn of a tap.”

Good thing Hova didn’t stay retired too long. For more information on the concert go check out AOL music. And to learn more about PlayPumps International go here. < Such a great concept!

Just read this press release from PR Newswire,.. I think it’s worth a share >

Music Rising announced Saturday that the download for the much anticipated “The Saints Are Coming” collaboration between legendary rock groups U2 and Green Day is now available via iTunes in the U.S. The song has topped the charts throughout Europe since its release.

All proceeds from the sale of the song will go directly to Music Rising a campaign launched in late 2005 by U2’s The Edge, producer Bob Ezrin and Gibson Guitar. Its mission to replace the musical instruments that were lost in Hurricanes Katrina and Rita has now extended to its second phase dedicated to helping churches and schools of the area. To date Music Rising has helped over 2,100 musicians regain their livelihood, has been recognized by President Bill Clinton and has won the 2005 Halo Award for Cause Marketing and the 2006 Billboard Humanitarian Award.

The footage from the flood scenes is still so unreal to me. Watch >

White, Wheat or Rye?

I personally choose rye when asked that question,.. but don’t let me get sidetracked. What we’re talking about here is a new web-site called “Your Name on Toast.” Each slice of toast you buy helps make the world a better place. I know this sounds crazy, but it’s true,.. and guess what?.. It’s working. The site has already seen 13,500+ hits and has raised over $2,000! Since Sunday!

The way it works is pretty straight forward. You buy a piece of toast on the site. (you choose what your toast says) The higher you are willing to pay for the toast,.. the higher your toast will appear in the listings. Simple as that! The best part of this whole thing is,.. All the toasty profits go toward a NPO. Right now they have a few up there (Save the Children, Oxfam, World Vision, etc.) At a certain point in time they’re going to take a vote and see which non-profit receives the money! Now that’s Wonder Bread! (sorry I had to)

Visit the site for more details and buy a slice today :)
